About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Optum. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
  • Instruct, direct, and schedule patients and visitors.
  • Receive cash payments from patients, issue receipts, and post cash payment data.
  • Manage cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies.
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments.
  • Manage medical records, including maintaining, filing, and preparing for schedules.
  • Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, process requests for medical records release, and maintain appropriate logs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time for coverage at other clinics if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with electronic health records.
  • 1+ years of related healthcare experience, including scheduling experience.
  • 1+ years of experience handling and triaging of telephone calls and a multi-system phone line.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to handle cash and count money at high volumes, including mathematical computations.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team, with good judgment and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with healthcare providers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
