About the Role

Ambriant at Avondale is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation and cooking, ensuring high-quality dishes are served to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare meals and food to meet the specifications of our residents in a timely manner.
  • Kitchen Management: Properly measure kitchen ingredients and food portions, ensure kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, and sanitation requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the kitchen inventory and ensure supplies are fresh and of high quality.
  • Quality Control: Ensure proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Leadership: Take charge of kitchen opening, closing, and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
Requirements
  • Culinary Degree: A minimum of a two-year degree in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Experience: At least one year of prior experience in a food service department, with supervisory experience desirable.
  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of proper food storage procedures, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Scheduled Hours: Available to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends for events.
  • Physical Demands: Medium work, ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
