Electrical Engineer Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Chenega Corporation. The successful candidate will provide labor support to various locations within the NAVFAC Washington Area of Responsibility, performing various tasks and services.

**Responsibilities**

* Provide electrical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction.
* Develop and execute projects with both Design-Bid-Build and Design Build delivery methods.
* Review other electrical engineers' work for code compliance and constructability.
* Estimate design efforts.
* Provide technical expertise in negotiations with Architectural-Engineering firms and general contractors.
* Address contractor submittals and requests for information (RFIs).

**Requirements**

* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college preferred but can be substituted for experience.
* 10+ years of specialized electrical facility schematic design and design development experience, including demonstrated experience with the evaluation of new and existing facilities' electrical systems.
* Secret clearance required.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

* Demonstrated working knowledge of current AutoCAD and other design and general office software.
* Demonstrated knowledge of specifications development and coordination, using Government-based specification software.
* Experience conducting field observation to verify/obtain the existing conditions of electrical sitework and facility systems and incorporating these conditions into the design for a renovation/rehabilitation project.
* Experience in Construction Management/Scheduling and Cost-estimating.
* Ability to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership.
* Ability to review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information (RFIs).
* Ability to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership. Oral and written communication skills must be highly developed.
