Electrical Engineering Leader

WSP is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Leader to join our team in Washington DC. As a key member of our Transportation Team, you will be responsible for leading electrical engineering and design work for a range of facilities, including transit, industrial, and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electrical engineering and design work for various facilities
  • Prepare comprehensive design criteria documents, calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical systems
  • Travel to customer facilities to conduct surveys and represent the company in a professional manner
  • Evaluate existing facility electrical systems and provide technical recommendations to management and clients
  • Perform feasibility studies related to microgrid and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) implementations
  • Develop engineer's cost estimates for electrical systems
  • Act as the engineer-of-record for design documents and reports
  • Conduct site surveys and provide support during construction activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • ~7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or Microstation, and strong command of Microsoft Office applications
  • Expertise in the application of the National Electrical Code
  • Broad range of experience in facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction support, and supervision of less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians
