Join Komatsu America as a Heavy Equipment Service Technician through the SkillBridge program, designed for transitioning military personnel. This unique opportunity allows active duty service members to gain hands-on experience in servicing advanced construction and mining machinery.
Location:
Hybrid position based in Mesa, AZ.
Program Details:
This internship is part of a military transition initiative that does not offer compensation through Komatsu. Eligible participants must be current service members enrolled in the DoD SkillBridge program.
Training and Responsibilities:
Interns will receive comprehensive training in:
1. Maintenance and repair of electric drive trucks and electric shovels.
2. Diagnostics and troubleshooting of construction equipment.
3. Hands-on experience with instrumentation, control systems, machining, and welding.
Service Technicians will be tasked with:
- Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on various Komatsu equipment.
- Collaborating with experienced technicians to enhance skills and knowledge.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for this program, candidates must:
- Be an active duty service member.
- Be separating from the military within 8-12 months.
- Be available for a maximum of 120 days for the internship.
- Commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
Compensation and Benefits:
Upon successful completion of the SkillBridge program, selected candidates may be considered for full-time employment, which includes:
- Competitive hourly wages with potential for merit-based raises and bonuses.
- A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- A robust 401K plan with company matching contributions.
- Reimbursement for necessary work-related expenses.
- Paid time off and holidays.
