Job Summary

North Suffolk Community Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Residential Support Specialist to join our Emergency Respite team. The successful candidate will provide direct support and rehabilitation services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage individuals in their recovery journey, promoting overall health and well-being.
  • Assist individuals in identifying personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests to establish goals that support a life in recovery.
  • Provide direct care services in a timely and flexible manner, implementing Community Support Plans, Safety Plans, and Crisis Prevention and Response Plans.
  • Document progress and outcomes in the confidential record, adhering to established methods and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and be MAP certified within five months of hire.
