Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team at North Suffolk Community Services Inc. As a key member of our residential support team, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals living in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to residents, promoting their overall health and well-being, and helping them achieve their personal goals.
  • Assist residents with daily living skills, transportation, skill-building, money management, medication administration, and risk mitigation, as outlined in their person-centered treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with residents to identify their strengths, interests, and priorities, and help them establish goals that support a life in recovery.
  • Arrange and transport residents to appointments or daily outings, ensuring their safe and timely arrival.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as answering phones and filling out paperwork, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning, to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
  • Valid driver's license is required; MAP certification must be obtained within five months of hire, and CPR/First Aid certification must be completed within the orientation period.
  • ASL fluency is a plus.
