Job Summary:

Bass Pro Shops is a leading outdoor recreation retailer seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our team. As a Team Leader, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily direction to associates in one of the departments within the store, including merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities.
  • Support the Group Sales or Department Manager in achieving departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals.
  • Assist in interviewing, training, and coaching associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
  • Resolve customer and associate opportunities with the Group Sales or Department Manager and Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintain a high level of personal customer service and achieve better-than-company-average customer service results.
  • Remain a product expert through ongoing product knowledge training and conduct product demos to the entire staff.
  • Assist in coordinating all special events, maintaining pricing and UPC integrity, determining proper assortments, accuracy of inventory, and proper display, signing, and pricing of all advertised items.
Key Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in retail sales.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to read and analyze certain reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, associates, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.
  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management, and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
