Position Summary

We are in search of a dedicated Sample Intake Specialist to enhance our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately log customer samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) while ensuring precision.
  • Maintain a high standard of timeliness and reliability in all tasks.
  • Adhere to the established daily work schedule.
  • Provide insights and suggestions to improve logging processes.
  • Conduct clerical reviews to verify data accuracy.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of samples at designated temperatures until analysis.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sample intake area.
  • Engage in special projects as directed by management.
  • Communicate effectively with the Manager/Supervisor regarding departmental issues.
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and vendors as necessary.
  • Continuously learn new techniques and technologies, providing training to others as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Execute all ISO and quality control requirements diligently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Manage inventory of supplies such as labels and boxes.
  • Assist in the return process of customer equipment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a scientific field or relevant industry experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 55 words per minute with high accuracy.
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques to minimize contamination risks.
  • Basic laboratory skills with a proven ability to perform essential lab procedures.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate various solutions and approaches.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage time and resources effectively.
  • Proficient in time management for oneself and others.
  • Experience in training and guiding others through processes.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Solid arithmetic skills for problem-solving.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Manual dexterity for handling laboratory equipment.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Physical Requirements

  • Dexterity to operate a computer and handle various laboratory components.
  • Potential exposure to various environmental factors including odors and chemicals.
  • Noise levels may vary from quiet to loud.
  • Temperature fluctuations from hot to cold may occur.
  • Engagement in fast-paced, team-oriented tasks.
  • Overnight travel may be required as per management's discretion.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 40 pounds.
  • Color vision and depth perception are necessary.
