The Technical Support Student Assistant plays a vital role in aiding the Department by providing assistance to staff and faculty through various communication channels including phone, email, and in-person interactions regarding their technological inquiries and challenges. Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, facilitating the physical setup and configuration of equipment, maintaining technology in conference rooms and classrooms, and ensuring the upkeep of devices such as computers, monitors, printers, projectors, and more.

Work hours are adaptable and will fluctuate based on the candidate's availability and departmental workload. The ideal candidate should be prepared to commit to approximately 20 hours per week, with a schedule that spans Monday to Friday, during the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM.

Candidates must: Be a current student at Franklin University; possess outstanding customer service abilities; demonstrate organizational skills with a keen attention to detail; manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment; maintain a positive demeanor and be open to change; work autonomously as well as collaboratively; exhibit a process-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities; possess excellent interpersonal and listening skills; communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; engage with a diverse population while upholding a high level of confidentiality; be proficient in MS Office applications; and be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds (including desktops, monitors, printers, scanners, etc.). Previous experience in technology support is advantageous. Familiarity with supporting web browsers, antivirus software, basic wireless troubleshooting, Windows operating systems, and PC hardware is also beneficial.
