The Student Support Administrator plays a crucial role in assisting at-risk students by addressing behavioral, disciplinary, or attendance challenges, while also guiding them towards greater academic success. This position is responsible for developing classroom and/or school-wide behavioral frameworks that encourage a positive and healthy educational environment.

About the Opportunity:

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding and respectful approach towards the behavioral needs of students across various age groups.
  • Provide expert knowledge in conducting effective Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), implementing function-based interventions, and creating Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  • Engage with students requiring intervention and formulate personalized behavior tracking and intervention strategies.
  • Participate in IEP Teams and cultivate relationships with students needing support.
  • Collaborate with staff on matters such as crisis intervention, learning challenges, and factors influencing the development and execution of interventions.
  • Act as a consultant for administrators, educators, and parents in identifying constructive solutions for behavior modification.
  • Monitor student attendance and devise Absence Intervention Plans to enhance overall school attendance.
  • Foster a positive school culture through daily practices, a constructive attitude, and collaboration with students, families, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in various duties including school events, training sessions, morning and dismissal duties, and lunch supervision as required.

About You:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, health, or a related field is preferred.
  • An Intervention Specialist license is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working with at-risk or behaviorally challenged children as a teacher, social worker, tutor, or mentor, ideally in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven ability to build trust and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Capacity to maintain composure and effectiveness under changing or stressful conditions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that reflect professionalism and tact.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to successfully pass federal, state, and local background checks.
