Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Cardiovascular Technician II is tasked with delivering safe and effective services to patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab and CVL. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Operating and maintaining necessary equipment for assigned duties.
  • Understanding cardiac and vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile techniques.
  • Performing patient setup, scrubbing, circulating, and maintaining sterile environments.
  • Monitoring and assessing image quality to meet established standards.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification within 12 months for CVT program graduates.
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (R) required; Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or (CI) preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology program.
  • Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab is preferred.
