Position Summary:

In the role of Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be instrumental in upholding the accuracy of our financial documentation, preparing financial reports, and performing financial assessments. You will work closely with various teams to provide critical insights that aid in financial planning and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a robust accounting background, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to operate autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Generate and evaluate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring precision and adherence to accounting standards.
  2. General Ledger Management: Oversee and reconcile the general ledger, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  3. Month-end and Year-end Processes: Direct the month-end and year-end closing activities, including the formulation of adjusting entries.
  4. Financial Analysis: Execute financial analyses, variance assessments, and deliver insights to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  5. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to support budget formulation and financial forecasting.
  6. Audit Coordination: Aid in the organization of external audits and supply necessary documentation to auditors.
  7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, standards, and relevant laws and regulations.
  8. Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation and compliance efforts, working in conjunction with tax professionals.
  9. Process Enhancement: Identify areas for process optimization and implement effective accounting practices.
  10. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain organized and current financial records, including supporting documentation.
  11. Cross-departmental Collaboration: Work with departments such as procurement, sales, and operations to provide financial guidance and support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline (CPA or advanced degree is advantageous).
  • Demonstrated experience as a staff accountant with a minimum of 3 years in the field.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
