Club Operations Director

Job Overview

The Club Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our gym to ensure an exceptional member experience and a financially successful club.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of employees in a positive and motivating manner, providing continuous training and development opportunities.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff adheres to superior customer service guidelines.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing staff, including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
  • Manage staff schedules, ensure all shifts are covered, and lead by example, maintaining consistent accountability for direct reports.
  • Administer and process employee payroll, resolve employee issues, and manage disciplinary/termination activities.
  • Oversee front desk activities, including answering phones, checking members into the system, and facilitating member requests and issues.
  • Ensure prompt opening and closing of the gym, oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, and determine equipment repair needs.
  • Manage marketing efforts, authorize expenditures and refunds, and prepare HR-related forms.
  • Track statistics and reports, and provide backup support for absent employees.
Requirements
  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Experience working as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness.
  • Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
  • Hard working, enthusiastic, and energetic.
  • Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands
  • Continual standing and walking during shift.
  • Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
