Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and present high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards, ensuring that all food is consistently prepared and served according to our recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, including line cooks, fry cooks, and expediters, to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, receiving, and storage of ingredients and supplies, ensuring that all products are ordered according to predetermined product specifications and received in correct unit count and condition.
- Cost Control: Control food cost and usage by following proper ordering procedures and practices, product storage procedures, standard recipes, and waste control procedures.
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating, and oversee the training of new kitchen employees.
- Sanitation and Safety: Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition, and that all kitchen staff are trained in safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions, including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, and expeditor.
- Qualifications: At least 6 months of experience in a similar capacity, and must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and dining room personnel and guests.
- Certifications: Be ServSafe Certified or willing to obtain certification within a timely manner.
- Availability: Must be able to work nights and weekends, and have a flexible schedule.
