We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Product Engineer for a prominent public organization recognized for its cutting-edge satellite communication solutions. This company’s robust and dependable ground equipment portfolio addresses the specific needs of mobile backhaul, government, mobility, and enterprise clients across more than 160 countries globally.

Key Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Product Engineer will be accountable for production support engineering related to designated products or product categories. This role involves taking charge of the product following its transition from design to mass production. The engineer will collaborate with design, process, testing, and reliability teams to resolve issues effectively.

  • Design and troubleshoot testing hardware and software to aid in product characterization.
  • Engage in the design and troubleshooting of mainframe testing hardware and software for production testing.
  • Oversee project management for new product launches.
  • Participate in the characterization and release phases of new product development.
  • Provide production support engineering for specific products or groups of products.
  • Develop and sustain software for automated testing of sensor products.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in C programming within a DOS environment, utilizing GPIB communication protocols.
  • Lead enhancements in manufacturing capabilities, focusing on yield improvement, testing modifications, and site transfers.
  • Assume responsibility for products once manufacturing capabilities are established.
  • Investigate and analyze quality issues to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop and maintain computerized manufacturing plans.
  • Manage automated assembly and packaging machinery.
  • Implement and troubleshoot PLC, sensors, pneumatics, and related systems.
  • Support all engineering aspects of current product lines through quality enhancements, value analysis, and reduction of production-related issues.
  • Recommend and/or implement necessary product design or specification modifications.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and quality in all related functions, including analytical support, design alternative reviews, failure mode analysis, first article inspection analysis, tolerance studies, and pilot run coordination.
  • Maintain technical oversight for one or more product lines in production.
  • Support quality and cost reduction initiatives during manufacturing stages.
  • Exhibit excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of design and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Ability to utilize statistical tools for problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with analog circuitry.
  • Experience in ATE testing development and a solid understanding of physics principles are highly valued.
  • Background in product engineering.
