Position Summary

We are in search of a Lead Software Build Architect to become a vital member of our Mobile Robotics division. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and team-oriented individual who excels in a dynamic development setting. Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Development:

Design and implement a robust and scalable build infrastructure that supports the entire software development lifecycle, including build servers, version control systems, and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.


CI/CD Management:

Create and uphold strong CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring swift and dependable software release cycles.


Tool Integration and Automation:

Assess, select, and integrate various tools and technologies to enhance and automate build, testing, and deployment workflows. Develop scripts and custom solutions to streamline build processes and boost developer efficiency.


Optimization of Build Systems:

Identify and rectify performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the build system, implementing enhancements to improve build times and resource utilization.


Version Control and Configuration Oversight:

Enforce best practices for version control and code review processes, ensuring the consistency and integrity of software configurations across various environments.


Quality Assurance Collaboration:

Work closely with QA teams to integrate automated testing frameworks into the build pipeline, facilitating thorough testing of software components and ensuring high-quality releases.


Release Coordination:

Manage the release process, including versioning, tagging, and deployment of software artifacts, ensuring smooth rollouts of new features and updates.


Documentation and Training:

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and training materials related to build and release processes, providing guidance to development teams on best practices.


Monitoring and Issue Resolution:

Oversee build and deployment pipelines for performance and security, promptly addressing any build failures or deployment issues.


Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.


Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in software development or build engineering roles.
- Expertise in build automation tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Proficient in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Groovy.
- Comprehensive understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and collaborative coding workflows.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is beneficial.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
