Job Summary

DFC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Sustainable and Inclusive Finance (SIFT) team. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the origination and monitoring of loans to high-impact financial intermediaries, including funds, investment companies, and commercial lenders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the review of applications for financing and financial statements
  • Build and analyze models of projected project cash flows
  • Research various policy issues and prepare country economic and political risk analyses
  • Prepare credit reviews of outstanding loans and collaborate with Investment Officers to present proposed loans to approval committees
  • Work with members of other departments to receive required policy clearances and assist in the processing of disbursement requests
Requirements
  • United States citizenship
  • Active enrollment in an accredited college or university in a relevant graduate degree program
  • Graduate-level academic concentration in business, international affairs/development, economics, or finance
  • Previous experience within a financial institution, social enterprise, and/or impact investing is highly desired
  • Exposure to and experience in Excel and financial modeling, as well as excellent research and communication skills
