Versiti, Inc. is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from donors in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare collection sites and perform setup, including technology systems.
- Perform donor screening, mini-physicals, and phlebotomy.
- Observe donors for reactions, provide reaction care, and assist other staff in handling reactions if needed.
- Conduct automation, including recognizing and responding to automation reactions.
- Recruit and convert donors for automation.
- Rebook donors for future donation appointments.
- Understand and perform to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Less than 1 year of job-related experience required.
- 1-3 years relevant people-facing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information, and/or the use of simple equipment, machines, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals.
- Must have basic mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to apply judgment to written or oral instructions.
- Ability to organize work to provide productive work flow.
- Has strong attention to detail.
- Must have good communication skills, including the ability to provide feedback to peers, and flexibility to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to learn/utilize computer applications such as Ceridian, Hemasphere, Oracle, and HemaTerra.
- Driver's License preferred.
- SBA - Spanish Bilingual Assistance Certificate preferred.
This position requires evening, weekend, and vacation work hours, and travel to other local collection sites as determined by business need.
