Key Responsibilities

This role is part of a collaborative team comprising professionals in Income Tax, Sales & Use, and Property Tax, who take pride in their contributions to the company's achievements. A typical day for this Tax Specialist involves supporting special tax-related projects, which may encompass the preparation, analysis, and management of the fixed asset and intangible asset data warehouse utilized for calculating tax depreciation and amortization, researching tax planning strategies, preparing international tax computations, and conducting fact-finding for transfer pricing assessments.

Primary Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation, analysis, and management of the fixed asset and intangible asset data warehouse for tax depreciation and amortization calculations.
  • Extract insights from data, identify discrepancies, and proactively seek solutions to ensure data accuracy.
  • Foster relationships with accounting, finance, IT, and other departments to achieve assigned goals.
  • Contribute to the design, analysis, and automation of various business improvement initiatives and/or develop applications that enhance tax processes.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, as well as federal and state income tax returns.
  • Investigate technical tax matters and draft technical memoranda.
  • Collaborate with external consultants on various tax-related projects.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, computer science, or a related technical field, with two or more years of corporate or consulting experience.
  • Experience with income tax provisions is preferred but not mandatory.
  • CPA certification and/or experience with Big 4 firms or business analysis consulting is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient knowledge of Longview, CorpTax, Alteryx, Visio, and Tableau is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and the ability to build complex models is required.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn about, OneStream, Orbit Analytics, or similar applications.
  • SQL querying experience is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, manage multiple projects, and adjust priorities as needed.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation ranges from $63,150.00 to $90,000.00 per year. The base salary range provided is a guideline. Individual total compensation may vary based on qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is influenced by the role's location and may change based on work location. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment screening, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
