Job Summary:
The Salvation Army Eastern Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team at the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Philadelphia, PA. As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe utilization of all aquatic areas by members and guests, providing superior customer service, and maintaining a safe and positive exercise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise member and guest use of aquatic venues, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Participate in daily maintenance of pool areas, exercise equipment related to pool use, and emergency equipment throughout the center.
- Actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions, as requested, to stay up-to-date on safety procedures and best practices.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions with members, guests, colleagues, and the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the center.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
- PA state lifeguard certification required; ability to satisfy periodic swimming requirements.
- Prior work experience as a lifeguard in PA preferred.
- Current CPR/AED certification required.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work and relate well with people.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
- Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 20 hours per week. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as required in the performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.
