Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in Haworth, NJ. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and execution of projects for Water and Wastewater Utilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage approximately $5M of water/wastewater system capital projects per year
  • Assist in managing the $100M+ annually of capital projects
  • Work directly with the Operations group to understand their needs in meeting operational, compliance, and health and safety goals
  • Participate in the development of project needs and scope of work
  • Prepare preliminary, engineering, and detailed cost estimates
  • Develop project budgets and enter into Veolia's Oracle database applications
  • Forecast, track, and report on project status and expenditures to ensure they are aligned with budget/established priorities
  • Manage consultant teams during the project studies, design, permitting, and construction phases
  • Coordinate with Operations during construction, ensuring construction activities aren't adversely impacting Operations
  • Prepare bid documents (i.e., scope of work development) and coordinate procurement with supply chain management
  • Manage contractors in the project execution phase
  • Respond to RFIs, process change requests, and review/approve invoices in the Veolia AP system
  • Work with Operations and Water Quality teams, ensuring needs/expectations are met and provides support in project execution
  • Assist in managing the junior engineer for the delivery of capital projects and other support for this Operation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering or a related field
  • 7+ years of civil/environmental engineering experience, specifically managing water/wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Solid experience and expertise in utility projects engineering and project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace applications
  • Possession of a P.E., F.E., or E.I.T. licensure that can transfer to the state of NJ (a plus but not required)
  • Experience in AutoCAD, ESRI/GIS, PowerPlan, INFOR, or other database applications (a plus but not required)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required
  • Water/Wastewater Operator Licenses are highly preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Ability to reside in/relocate to the Haworth, NJ area (relocation assistance provided)
  • Ability to work legally in the U.S. for any employer without visa sponsorship
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical
