Landscape Field Coordinator

Join Fairmount Park Conservancy as a Landscape Field Coordinator and contribute to the stewardship of our parks and natural areas. As a key member of our Places team, you will be responsible for carrying out and coordinating the maintenance priorities of forest, meadow, wetland, horticultural landscapes, and general habitat restoration projects.
Responsibilities:- Regularly visit and monitor key Conservancy-managed landscapes to inspect plants for health deficiencies and problems, ascertain proper corrective measures, and execute maintenance activities
- Conduct sustainable trail construction and maintenance
- Coordinate with partner organizations and outside contractors to ensure that landscape planting and maintenance is successfully implemented at priority sites
- Coordinate with new/existing groups stewarding watershed parks to advance the establishment and maintenance of Conservancy-managed landscapes
- Help compile informational materials for use in training partner organizations in sustainable landscape management and maintenance practices
- Collect ArcGIS Field Maps data on plant species, diversity, and management practices
- Operate mechanical equipment (e.g. brush mower, tractor, chainsaw, etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in horticultural landscapes and natural areas, including gardens, forests, meadows, wetlands, and riparian areas
- Ability to identify native, ornamental, and invasive plant species
- Understanding of land management practices
- Ability to operate mechanical equipment: truck w/trailer, brush mower, tractor, drill seeder, chainsaw
- Be able and willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and lift up to 50 lbs
- Required to possess a valid state driver's license
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a collaborative manner
- Must be able to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using GIS applications such as ArcGIS Field Maps
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000. Additionally, Fairmount Park Conservancy offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, and vision, as well as life, disability, and retirement.
