Position Overview:

This role is a professional sales position focused on expanding new business opportunities while meeting established business objectives and enhancing the customer experience. The Gastronomy Solutions Expert plays a pivotal role in the collaborative sales model, acting as a representative for the Sysco brand, innovative products, and Category Management offerings. This individual will also engage with customers at culinary events and relevant industry organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement targeted culinary strategies to meet individual and regional business goals, driving profitable sales growth across various categories and specialty segments.
  • Work closely with the Director of Business Resources to utilize data for identifying prime opportunities for business reviews.
  • Collaborate with sales partners to identify customer challenges and deliver innovative solutions to foster business growth.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track activities and results, promoting the team selling process.
  • Employ sampling strategically to facilitate sales closures.
  • Stay informed about market trends, product innovations, and competitor offerings, sharing insights with customers as part of value-added services.
  • Organize and facilitate internal and external culinary events, including food shows and catering activities.
  • Oversee kitchen logistics to support culinary events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, chefs, and sales teams through participation in local events and culinary competitions.
  • Advise the sales team on product specifications and serve as an expert on Sysco Brand and innovative products.
  • Assist in employee training by facilitating training sessions and demonstrations.
  • Manage operations of the culinary center, ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Oversee food and supply costs within budgetary constraints.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of executive chef experience in the foodservice sector.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent culinary qualification, along with 3+ years of foodservice sales experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Expertise in culinary operations and food trends.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze profit and loss statements.
  • Proven success in consultative selling and networking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives effectively while delivering high-quality results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic math skills.
