POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this role involves executing financial and budgetary tasks, collaborating with transit initiatives, and performing various administrative responsibilities to support the daily functions of the Miami County Transit department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of secondary education along with experience that demonstrates knowledge of contemporary office practices and equipment. Proficiency in typing and bookkeeping is essential, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Ohio driver's license is required. Candidates must possess the ability to read and interpret documents, write standard reports and correspondence, and prepare clear and concise documentation. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for interaction with the public, senior management, employees, and customers. Candidates should be capable of performing basic mathematical operations and solving problems using various units of measure. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required, along with the ability to operate standard office equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Assist in the preparation of summary sheets and manage accounts payable files. Process payments, issue receipts, and reconcile cash with receipts and stubs. Collaborate in compiling data for various departmental grants. Build and maintain effective relationships with program users, service providers, contracting agencies, and other relevant entities. Manage scheduling and billing manifests, recommending improvements and efficiencies. Adhere to communication policies, ensuring timely mail processing and delivery. Attend vendor shows to promote transit and associated programs, and participate in regional planning committee meetings as directed. Drive for work-related purposes as necessary. Conduct monthly quality audits on transit service providers and address customer complaints professionally and promptly. Process rider applications for fare assistance, manage application renewals, and conduct interviews to determine eligibility for Title XX applicants. Maintain confidentiality of rider records and files. Provide administrative support to department leadership and team members, including requisitioning supplies, typing meeting minutes, and attending staff meetings. Ensure compliance with job safety requirements and OSHA standards, demonstrating regular and predictable attendance.

COMPENSATION:
$17.50/hour, dependent on qualifications
