Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage all splicing tasks to guarantee compliance with both customer and industry standards.
  • Ensure the availability of all necessary tools and equipment at the worksite, adhering to engineered plans while monitoring production metrics.
  • Address and resolve any concerns from property owners in the vicinity of work activities, providing clear explanations of ongoing operations.
  • Complete daily production documentation, update maps, track work hours, and finalize 'as-built' documentation for spliced areas.
  • Conduct basic installation and acceptance testing for light levels.
  • Perform fundamental wiring tasks in office environments or new construction projects.
  • Handle the installation, repair, and upkeep of internal wiring systems.
  • Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and splicing accuracy.
  • Execute focused splicing tasks necessary for the installation of intricate circuits and designs.
  • Utilize an OTDR to verify splicing accuracy and distance.
  • Pull fiber cables through conduits, perform splicing, and activate both underground and aerial lines.
  • Securely attach cables within buildings using appropriate tools and materials.
  • Troubleshoot splice loss or attenuation issues using an OTDR.
  • Daily reconciliation of issued materials and parts to ensure precise tracking of material usage.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of network architecture, as this role demands knowledge in network design and troubleshooting.
  • Audit and document splicing matrices and existing fiber infrastructure.
  • Document and validate as-built conditions for new installations and modifications.
  • Be prepared to work assigned shifts, including potential overtime as needed.
  • Capable of performing the physical demands of the role throughout the entire shift.
  • Exhibit reliability, responsibility, and consistent attendance.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Pass drug and background screenings.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
