Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Corporate Accounting Manager to take charge of the financial operations and enhance the accounting framework within our organization. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of corporate accounting, financial disclosures, and consolidations, while also providing expert technical accounting advice in accordance with GAAP standards. The position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the CFO to develop and expand the corporate accounting and financial reporting capabilities.
  • Direct and manage the financial closing process, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities, as well as bank reconciliations and comprehensive financial reporting.
  • Supervise all technical accounting matters, including conducting research and proposing relevant accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the processing of transactions and management of all accounting functions, including Revenue, Fixed Assets/CIP, Leases, Accounts Payable/Accruals, Payroll, Cost Accounting, and General Accounting, while generating periodic management reports.
  • Ensure accurate and timely accounting treatment of all transactions in compliance with U.S. GAAP, covering both routine and non-recurring transactions.
  • Design and implement efficient accounting processes, systems, and controls that can scale with the growth of the business, including thorough documentation of policies and procedures.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of corporate accounting and general ledger operations.
  • Act as a liaison with external auditors and consultants to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide insightful recommendations to improve the efficiency of accounting and reporting functions.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application across various accounting and finance domains.
  • Proven ability to evaluate, develop, enhance, and implement accounting and finance policies and procedures.
  • Experience with general ledger operations and leading the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; knowledge of Sage Intacct, Innovative/ICC, or ADP is a plus.
  • Experience in the trucking or logistics sector is beneficial.
