Patient Access Coordinator PRN

As a vital part of our healthcare team, the Patient Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in shaping the initial experiences of our patients.
This position requires a blend of organizational skills, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service. You will have the opportunity to lead and implement positive changes within our processes.
Your contributions will be recognized as you work collaboratively with administration, management, physicians, and other staff members to enhance the experience of our patients, visitors, and stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include creating a welcoming environment for each patient, family member, and visitor while efficiently managing the tasks of pre-admitting, admitting, and registering patients.
The Patient Access Coordinator will conduct interviews with patients or their representatives to gather essential demographic and financial information necessary for registration and admission, ensuring accurate data entry into our electronic record system.
Additionally, you will verify insurance benefits, communicate financial obligations to patients or their representatives, and collect any outstanding balances at the point of service.
This role also includes mentoring new associates and assisting in the orientation of new employees.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct patient registration and insurance verification
• Manage cash collections and phone inquiries
• Provide outstanding customer service and problem-solving support
• Oversee workflow management to ensure efficiency
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
• Previous office experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology and strong multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• High School diploma is required
• Physical requirements include sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
