Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine evaluations and inspections of supplier operations to verify adherence to organizational standards and industry guidelines.
  • Assess supplier quality management frameworks and procedures to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.
  • Formulate and execute quality assurance strategies for both new and established suppliers.
  • Engage with suppliers to identify, assess, and rectify quality-related challenges.
  • Employ analytical tools (such as root cause analysis and 8D reports) to tackle and resolve non-compliance issues.
  • Partner with suppliers to devise and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Offer technical support and direction to suppliers to elevate their quality performance and production processes.
  • Track and evaluate supplier performance using essential quality indicators (like defect rates and timely deliveries).
  • Examine data and patterns to provide insights for ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that all supplier quality documentation, including quality agreements and certifications, is precise and current.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to supplier quality matters, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments (such as Engineering, Production, and Purchasing) to ensure coherence on quality standards and expectations.
  • Facilitate effective communication between suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and implement enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or a related discipline) or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, specifically focusing on supplier quality management within a manufacturing context.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality methodologies and tools (such as FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP), along with familiarity with quality management systems (like ISO 9001).
  • Proficient in data analysis, trend identification, and making informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating a proactive and hands-on approach to resolving quality challenges.
  • High attention to detail and precision in assessing and documenting supplier performance.
