Shift Information

Medication Technician / Certified Medication Aide

Weekdays; Alternate weekends

The Medication Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing the health and safety of our residents, providing essential support and guidance in resident care and services. Key responsibilities encompass medication management, effective communication with resident support services and families, and upholding clinical quality standards while leading and promoting the core wellness elements integral to Phoenix programs and services.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Medication Technician / Certified Medication Aide

Resident Support

  • Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment and Personalized Service Plan (PSP) process.
  • Ensures accurate follow-through and documentation for residents experiencing changes in clinical care requirements.
  • Assists the Wellness Nurse in completing the clinical sections of monthly wellness assessments and PSP to accurately represent the resident's status.
  • Communicates any changes in medication or service levels to the Wellness Director and/or Executive Director that may necessitate a higher tier level or potential relocation.
  • Assists in obtaining weights and vital signs for each resident monthly prior to the completion of wellness assessments.
  • Provides assistance with resident care as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Medication Technician / Certified Medication Aide

  • Must hold certification as a Medication Aide and/or fulfill state requirements for medication aides.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living sector and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing is preferred.
  • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours to meet the needs of our residents during peak service times.
