Position Overview

Schedule:

This role is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position. Shifts are typically arranged Monday through Friday, operating between 7:45 AM and 5:30 PM. There are no requirements for holidays, on-call duties, or weekend shifts. Occasionally, evening hours may be necessary to support urgent care laboratories. Flexibility in hours may be required based on departmental operational needs.

Compensation:
  • New hires may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00.
  • This position includes a float differential of $2.25 per hour.

We are looking for a Float Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to:
  • Conduct and validate patient testing, proficiency assessments, and quality control measures. Address issues as they arise.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making abilities, work autonomously, and take on teaching or training roles as necessary.
  • Perform phlebotomy, manage specimen processing for testing and transport, provide patient instructions, and respond to provider inquiries as needed.

Educational Requirements:

Minimum - An associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, or equivalent education and training, including 60 semester hours with:

• 24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology courses or

• 24 semester hours in science courses.

Preferred - An associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field in the sciences.

Experience:

Preferred - At least one year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience.

Certifications:

Preferred - Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or a similar organization.
