The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing intellectual property cases and transactions, preparing and reviewing legal documentation, and providing comprehensive support to our attorneys throughout the litigation process.
Key Responsibilities:
Case and Transaction Oversight:
- Administer IP cases, transactions, and related databases.
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents pertinent to intellectual property matters.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and research for IP-related issues.
Technical Proficiency and Filing Expertise:
- Demonstrate technical skills aligned with the firm's technological framework.
- Exhibit proficiency in filing procedures across various jurisdictions.
- Provide training to new team members on essential procedures and technology.
Document Management and Organization:
- Monitor dockets and systematically organize filed documents.
- Review documents for privilege and relevance.
- Oversee document numbering and labeling, ensuring comprehensive tracking of production and privilege documents.
Court Support and Hearing Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of court filings, service of documents, and expert reports.
- Prepare for hearings, including fact and expert witness depositions.
- Organize trial hearings and arbitration, including witness binders and presentation materials.
- Track time during trials and assist attorneys with document distribution.
Database Management and Material Organization:
- Retrieve, rename, and organize materials efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and current databases and indices.
- Complete pretrial and trial projects, such as exhibit lists and witness preparations.
Collaboration and Project Management:
- Utilize departmental training resources effectively.
- Manage projects and deadlines both independently and collaboratively.
- Provide insights on training needs and performance evaluations.
- Complete discovery projects, including document reviews and privilege logs.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and deadlines while maintaining composure under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certification preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in legal research and document management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
