Job Overview

Zerega Consulting Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Litigation Paralegal to support our Business Litigation practice. This role involves engaging in both state and federal litigation, as well as arbitrations and administrative proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business litigation and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including document management, drafting legal documents, and providing support during trials and hearings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee document and discovery processes.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for attorney review.
  • Assist in trial preparation, ensuring courtrooms are ready and attending trials as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and investigations to support case strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison with outside counsel and their paralegal teams.
  • Maintain communication with attorneys regarding case priorities and updates.
  • Prepare and organize case files, including affidavits and correspondence.
  • Coordinate with court administrators and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Summarize research findings in clear and concise memoranda.
  • Handle large-scale document productions, including retrieval and database management.
  • Ensure accuracy in legal documents through citation checking and editing.
  • Maintain comprehensive databases for documents, transcripts, and work products.
  • Organize exhibit lists and privilege logs for trials.
  • Collaborate with external document and litigation vendors.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in all interactions.
  • Track and bill professional time accurately to client files.
  • Manage both electronic and physical case files efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a law firm setting is required.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple attorneys is essential.
  • Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) certification is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with Florida court procedures and filing requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and law firm case management software.
  • Experience with Relativity and other legal research tools is necessary.
