Job Overview

Zerega Consulting Services, LLC is in search of a skilled paralegal to support our Business Litigation division. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in handling state and federal litigation, arbitrations, and administrative matters. Responsibilities will encompass managing documents and discovery processes, drafting legal pleadings and motions, and providing support during trials and hearings.

Position Summary:

This role involves performing a variety of legal administrative tasks while delivering exceptional service to clients, demonstrating a strong commitment to professionalism and quality. Candidates should have extensive litigation experience and a comprehensive understanding of law firm operations, including administrative processes, information technology systems, and research tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within a mid to large-sized firm, managing multiple responsibilities across various departments.
  • Possess a solid understanding of court procedures and ensure compliance when filing legal documents.
  • Assist in trial preparations, ensuring courtrooms are ready and attending trials as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, perform legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare motions for attorney review.
  • Serve as a liaison with outside counsel and their paralegal teams.
  • Keep attorneys informed about the status and priorities of assigned cases.
  • Prepare draft affidavits and maintain organized case correspondence and document files.
  • Engage with court administrators and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Summarize research findings in written memoranda.
  • Manage large and complex document productions, including retrieval, review, and database uploads.
  • Ensure accuracy in legal documents through cite-checking and editing.
  • Maintain organized databases for documents, transcripts, and work products.
  • Prepare exhibit lists and privilege logs as needed.
  • Coordinate with external document and litigation vendors.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in drafting and proofreading legal documents.
  • Track and bill professional time accurately to client files.
  • Manage both electronic and physical case files efficiently.

The above responsibilities are intended to outline the general nature and level of work performed in this position. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to balance workloads or cover for absences.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a law firm setting is required.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple attorneys is essential.
  • Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) certification is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time constraints.
  • Proficient in balancing assignments from multiple attorneys.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Familiarity with Florida court procedures and filing requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, with experience in law firm case management and billing software.
  • Knowledge of Relativity is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: Up to $80,000.00 annually
