We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructional Aide to join our team at Ombudsman Educational Services. As an Instructional Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support: Provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students, and additional support to the core classroom staff.
- Instructional Strategies: Utilize instructional strategies to assist with student learning and help students meet requirements for student course completion.
- Progress Monitoring: Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students in accordance with specific timelines and communicate with the classroom teacher overall progress or interventions needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress, including course completion progress, ensuring students have appropriate course syllabus for assigned courses.
- Behavior Management: Manage student behavior in the classroom by upholding the ChanceLight philosophy and policies, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary; working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure consistency.
- Counseling and Support: Support students, counsel students with academic issues, and provide encouragement to students.
- Communication: Communicate necessary information to students, team members, supervisors, and parents regarding students' needs and academic progress in collaboration with classroom teacher and principal.
- Professional Development: Participate in school meetings, student/parent meetings, and individual student advisory meetings as requested and required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
- Credentials: Licensed as or have the ability to obtain a paraprofessional, paraeducator, educational aide, or teaching assistant credential preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children, preferably in an alternative education and/or classroom setting.
- Skills: Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- Personal Qualities: Solid motivational skills, willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives, and a commitment to ongoing self-improvement.
