Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiography Sonographer to join our team at UPMC Passavant. As a key member of our Diagnostic Cardiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiography procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate their fears.
  • Identify patients properly and review their history and physician orders to ensure optimal results.
  • Document patient history and perform echocardiography procedures according to established protocols.
  • Utilize ultrasound instrumentation and demonstrate knowledge of equipment operations and scanning techniques.
  • Interact with patients and co-workers in a caring and respectful manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to expedite patient care efficiently.
  • Ensure completed exams are properly coded and identified for electronic processing and storage.
  • Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures, including Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, and Echo with contrast.
Requirements
  • Completion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Registered or registry eligible with physics portion of registry obtained (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance.
