Role Summary

UPMC Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Echocardiography Sonographer to join their Cardiology team. As a key member of the team, you will perform non-invasive echocardiography and Doppler studies, supporting the department in daylight shifts with some on-call obligations at either Children's Hospital or Magee-Womens Hospital.

Responsibilities

Perform echocardiographic studies on children with structurally normal hearts and simple cardiac lesions without assistance.

Recognize complex heart disease and acquire necessary images.

Identify interesting cases and log them into the Sonographer QA binder.

Participate in teaching ultrasound students and cardiology fellows to the degree of own knowledge.

Review patient's medical history to determine what echocardiographic information is needed.

Requirements

Associate's Degree and/or graduate of an accredited ultrasound training program.

Basic science area, such as ultrasound, with an emphasis on cardiac anatomy and physiology or related healthcare field.

1 year of echocardiography procedure experience.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

Registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer. Adult (AE) or Pediatric (PE) certification.
