Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Job Summary:
Highmark Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing prescribed Sonography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Positions patients and performs imaging procedures, analyzing results and identifying issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice, monitoring patient condition continually and reporting/responding to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepares equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, implementing safety standards, and performing quality control procedures on equipment.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of associate's degree.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Sonography-RT(S) or Vascular Sonography-RT(VS) certification and registration via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Breast (BS) via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) earned prior to 2011, or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification via Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required within 12 months of hire.
- CPR - American Heart Association, Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior sonography experience.
