About the Role

At BETA Technologies, we are revolutionizing electric aviation by developing innovative electric aircraft systems. We are seeking a skilled Airframe Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative electric aircraft systems from conception through assembly and test/validation
  • Work with a team to rapidly develop new technologies for our electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft
  • Leverage past industry experience and supplement with new knowledge gained through research and experimentation
  • Use CAD modeling and structural, thermal, and CFD analysis tools to ensure designs meet or exceed design, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal and external fabricators to see parts through manufacturing
  • Develop and build prototypes and run experiments to inform future designs
  • Mentor team members and coordinate agile team goals and timelines
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering degree with strong Mechanical Design focus from an accredited University
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in mechanical design, preferably in the Aerospace industry
  • Extensive knowledge of typical rotorcraft Fuselage structures and Fixed Wing Fuselage structures
  • Knowledge of composite structures a major asset
  • Mastery of 3D CAD software (Catia/ENOVIA preferred)
Above and Beyond Qualifications
  • Experience with various machine shop tools: lathe, mill, welder
  • Rapid prototyping or aircraft building experience
