Job Summary

Yale Law School is seeking an IT Student Support Manager to provide expert technical assistance and support to Law students, student journals, and student organizations. This role involves addressing hardware, software, printing, and Wi-Fi issues, while managing the escalation of more complex problems to ensure prompt and efficient resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor non-standard systems production work.
  • Oversee the activities of team and shift employees and supervisors within a department to ensure smooth and timely production schedules.
  • Evaluate policies and procedures and recommend changes to maximize efficiency and service.
  • Communicate and coordinate needed repairs, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Work with systems personnel to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Maintain security and ensure adherence to departmental goals, budgets, and expectations.
  • Participate in the evaluation of, and planning of staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Supervise and schedule staff of employees.
Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field and a minimum of three years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. The ideal candidate will have proven ability and drive to provide excellent customer service with exceptional interpersonal skills, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and experience troubleshooting and identifying issues with Apple and Windows devices.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience supervising or coordinating staff or student workers in a higher education environment and previous experience working in an IT help desk or customer service role are preferred.

Work Environment

The IT Student Support Manager will occasionally be required to work evenings and/or weekends to support student needs during peak times.
