Role Overview:


The Lead Project Delivery Specialist is accountable for providing comprehensive support to both the sales and engineering teams, overseeing project execution, cost estimation, and financial oversight for the project portfolio within the designated Area team.


This role involves managing projects assigned by the Area General Manager (AGM) within the local region, determining necessary resources to meet schedule milestones, and monitoring workforce levels to ensure adherence to the construction plan.


Scope Management:
Effectively manages changes and scope adjustments, ensuring that all modifications are documented promptly and that change orders receive approval before work commences.


Participates in the implementation of site safety and security protocols, contributing actively to the development of the project execution strategy.


Collaborates strategically with Sales and Engineering teams to secure contracts that engage customers, while also nurturing relationships with clients and subcontractors.


External Engagement:


The Lead Project Delivery Specialist plays a vital role in the local contracting landscape, engaging with industry organizations and networking with local subcontractors to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the sales and execution phases.


Internal Collaboration:


Works closely with Area Team members to solidify local market leadership. Assists the Area Installation Manager in planning for future resource requirements and allocating resources to meet immediate commitments.


Evaluates development needs and collaborates with the Area Installation Manager to assign Construction Managers as necessary, ensuring early involvement in the audit process for vendor selection, scope enhancements, and risk assessments.


Assesses project execution requirements and works with the Area Installation Manager to allocate Construction Managers to specific area projects.


Supports the Area General Manager in preparing the annual financial operating plan for the project business and ensures that fiscal year objectives are achieved.


Contributes to the monthly financial reporting process for the Area.


Execution Strategy:


Engages in sales support activities early in the audit process, providing insights on vendor selection, scope enhancements, and risk evaluations.


Manages cost estimation, project scheduling, and construction management for projects secured by the area team, ensuring profitable execution of the project portfolio.


Ensures that all projects are executed accurately, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract scope, while maintaining profitability and positive cash flow.


Utilizes resource planning techniques to optimize productivity among team members and effectively plans, schedules, and controls project activities.


Possesses a broad understanding of commercial complexities, financial acumen, and negotiation skills, with strong communication abilities to engage with C-level stakeholders.


Provides monthly updates on the financial status of the Area team's projects and participates in monthly operational reviews with the Area General Manager.


Oversees various project types, including FIMs and innovative/renewable projects, while fostering long-term relationships with customers and contractors.


Ensures that Construction Managers adhere to Project Execution and Safety Plans for each assigned project, determining resource allocation and duration for construction resources.


Establishes customer touchpoints throughout project lifecycles to gather feedback on satisfaction and coaches teams on proactively addressing customer concerns.


Demonstrates leadership by focusing on exceeding customer expectations and effectively communicates project statuses to the Area General Manager, providing forecasts for revenue, costs, and gross margins.


Maintains positive working relationships with subcontractors and internal partners, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and upholding the highest ethical standards in business conduct.


Champions the Safety Program for employees and subcontractors across all levels of the Installation organization.


Performance Metrics:


The Lead Project Delivery Specialist is responsible for the executed margin of all projects within their portfolio, with key performance indicators including:

  • Area Profitability
  • Project Profitability
  • Executed Gross Margin
  • Project Cash Flow
  • Timely Project Completion
Qualifications:


Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience, along with ten or more years of progressively responsible operations management experience in the Installation Industry, including five or more years in direct management roles.


Candidates should possess high-level written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation abilities, and the capacity to lead cross-functional project teams to achieve business objectives.


Proficiency in negotiation, persuasion, and influence is essential, along with familiarity with software scheduling tools and applications.


Strong project management competencies and proficiency in MS Office applications, Adobe Writer, Visio, and MS Project are also required.
