Job Description

At Johnson Controls, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Building Technologies & Solutions business, you will be responsible for leading large mechanical construction projects in the local area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead large mechanical construction projects in the local area, working remotely and traveling to customer sites as needed.
  • Work with Owner and contractor sales managers and branch installation managers and teams to provide sales support activities early in the TAS and development process.
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed accurately, on-time, billed, within budget, and within scope of the contract.
  • Maintain positive cash flow and ensure work performed is in compliance with state, local, and Federal legal requirements.
  • Adhere to and ensure Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards.
  • Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams on assigned projects, developing project schedules and executing according to plan.
  • Evaluate the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives, and/or scheduling changes.
  • Manage costs, billings, and collections, completing project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client.
  • Review and interpret contract Terms and Conditions, analyzing financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to management as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or an associate's degree with equivalent work-related experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry.
  • Management experience with projects related to Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems is desired.
  • Expectation that PMI/PMP certification will be obtained within 2 years of employment in the position.
  • Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience, proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems.
