About the Job

The Hudson Valley Renegades, a High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, seek a seasoned General Manager to oversee all day-to-day business operations. This includes driving revenue growth, expense control, and financial goal management, while creating an environment of excellence for staff and fans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships in the community to ensure long-term success.
  • Develop and procure operational systems to support business operations, including ticketing systems and customer database management.
  • Work with the DBH executive team to drive retail, merchandising, food and beverage, stadium operations, media relations, and team operations.
  • Manage the daily business and sales operations of the team, including forecasting and overseeing the annual operations budget.
  • Responsible for managing sponsorship revenues, identifying prospects, maintaining current sponsors, and generating new sponsorship revenues.
  • Establish and monitor goals and objectives for all areas of operations to create a results-driven atmosphere.
  • Responsible for ensuring the ticket sales team is trained and resourced to maximize sales opportunities and hit revenue targets.
  • Manage and supervise all merchandising strategies, including stadium events and rentals.
  • Develop inventive ideas to create or increase overall ballpark revenue streams.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the team and stadium with the press and the public.
  • Manage customer concerns, expectations, and issues as they arise.
  • Work with MLB and the New York Yankees on baseball operations matters.
  • Act as a leader, manager, and mentor to all staff who work on the team.
  • Recruit and hire staff, train new staff on operational and sales processes, and create a culture of high performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a strong Assistant General Manager or General Manager with a proven track record of management and sales success.
  • Individual sales experience in sponsorship and ticketing with a proven track record.
  • Previous experience developing and managing an operating budget.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Strong sales instincts and the ability to learn from others.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • The ability to lead others to achieve while teaching them the whys and hows.
  • Recruiting and hiring experience.
  • Experience developing junior-level team players.
  • Familiarity with computerized ticketing systems and all operational systems that run a ballpark.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
Physical Demands & Working Environment

Required to work long hours standing and walking around. Sitting, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, or crouching are all part of the position. Must be able to handle weather-related elements such as rain and heat.
