This role will act as the chief finance manager for various emerging venture capital firms. You will be instrumental in developing and sustaining fund models, capital budgets, and portfolio tracking systems. We will guide you through our processes; your motivation and curiosity are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a co-founder of this product initiative and assist in shaping this role for future success.
  • Develop and maintain fund models and portfolio monitoring databases using Airtable and Excel. Mastery of these tools will be crucial for your success.
  • Enhance training materials and client deliverables, respond to inquiries promptly and accurately, and strive for continuous improvement in our operations.

Initial Expectations:

  • Exhibit a solid understanding of financial statements and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Construct a model in Excel from the ground up, including a basic venture fund waterfall or a small business pro-forma P&L.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools such as Airtable and Coda is expected from day one; numerous online resources are available for learning the basics.
  • Navigate the challenges associated with launching a new product in a high-expectation setting.

Expected Outcomes within Three Months:

  • Master venture fund modeling, manage multiple client fund models, and provide timely and accurate guidance to clients.
  • Oversee client Airtable and Excel portfolio databases, manage quarterly portfolio reporting, and implement ongoing process enhancements based on client feedback.
  • Administer multiple client capital budgets and ensure regular updates.
  • Take ownership of your segment of client deliverables, demonstrating proficiency in both MS Office and Google Suite.
