Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to join the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives as a Deputy Chief, Field Management Staff. The successful candidate will serve as a senior advisor and consultant to the Division Chief, Deputy Assistant Directors, and Assistant Director on substantive management issues affecting the Bureau and its relationships with other agencies and government entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial policies, practices, and procedures to manage overall financial management.
  • Manage projects and programs relating to cost analysis and fiscal planning.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, employees, and external partners.
  • Represent the Division Chief or DADs in executive-level meetings with ATF and other federal agencies.
  • Establish work priorities, set standards, develop criteria for evaluation, review completed work, evaluate performance, and perform a full range of technical and administrative supervision.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation.
  • Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service.
  • Must sign a mobility agreement as a condition of employment.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14. Specialized experience includes leading and/or supervising analytical duties of assigned financial areas, formulating financial policies, practices, and/or procedures to manage overall financial management, managing projects and programs relating to cost analysis and fiscal planning, and communicating orally and in writing.
