Job Summary

This is a full-time, hourly position responsible for loading and unloading wet and dry railcars/tanker trucks for distribution to customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating pumps and valves, performing quality control checks, and maintaining sanitation duties of the terminal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate pumps and valves to unload dry and liquid railcars.
  • Perform and document quality control checks to ensure all products meet quality specifications.
  • Perform and document sanitation duties of the terminal as assigned by management.
  • Complete and maintain quality control logs and forms as specified by standard operating procedures.
  • Operate pumps and valves to sanitize tanker trailers.
  • Operate pumps and valves to make liquid Sucrose and Liquid Blends.
  • Handle and connect hoses.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers, cranking of dolly legs, pulling 5th wheel pins.
  • Ascending and descending tractor cabs, trailers, railcars, storage tanks, catwalks, ladders, and step stools.
  • Operate computer systems to input data and/or other business functions.
Requirements
  • No prior experience or training required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a moderate to loud noise level environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided, including hard hat, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, steel or composite toe boots, and fall protection. The employee will work a pre-determined schedule that can include up to 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
