Job Overview

The Federal Grants Coordinator will possess strong communication and organizational abilities to assist both prospective and existing government clients. **This position is available for remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Execute specific pre-award tasks under the guidance of the Government Accountability Office/Grants Management Specialists to provide financial assistance support and counsel to Contracting Officers and/or Program Owners. Pre-award tasks encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Facilitating award process activities within STRIPES
  • Collaborating with Program Owners to assess the budget, ensuring alignment with the project narrative
  • Assessing subcontractors and subrecipients, travel costs, equipment acquisitions, indirect cost rates, and fringe benefit agreements, ensuring adherence to 2 CFR 200
  • Conducting Financial Management Assessments
  • Preparing the Determination of Responsibility, which evaluates the recipient's administrative and programmatic capabilities
  • Reviewing organizational audits and identifying High Risk factors for recipients
  • Determining Payment Methods based on financial management assessment outcomes
  • Evaluating potential cost-sharing arrangements
  • Drafting terms and conditions for assistance agreements
  • Monitoring award process milestones to guarantee timely submission of Financial Assistance award packages to the Government Accountability Office.
Additional Duties:
  • Engage in Multi-Functional Teams, conduct meetings, and liaise with Program Owners and Contracting Officers/Grants Management Specialists, as well as ProVets team members.
  • Interact with recipients to provide guidance on award document preparation.
  • Document and notify the Contracting Officer of extensive communication attempts leading to government delays, particularly regarding requirement package receipt.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related discipline
  • A minimum of five years of experience in federal grant awards preparation or similar roles, involving meticulous data processing and/or data package preparation such as mortgage preparation, banking activities, accounting, construction management, project management, or similar regulatory data processing with personal interaction.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient personal computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as SharePoint.
  • Adept at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks with strict deadlines and coordinating efforts across various offices as needed.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with a focus on transferring knowledge of the award process to facilitate efficient and timely award package completion.
  • Collaborate effectively with ProVets Team members to ensure consistent information transfer to all recipients.
  • Mentor team members to promote a consistent exchange of information among ProVets Team members.
  • Proficiency in STRIPES.
Work Environment and Expectations
  • Consistent, full-time work is anticipated throughout an eight-hour day in a focused and fast-paced setting.
  • Client interactions across various US time zones may necessitate flexible work hours during the day to meet requirements and complete tasks.
