About the Position:

The Tracked Automotive Engineering Project Manager is responsible for leading a cross-functional team in delivering key products and integrating and testing them at the subsystem and vehicle level. This role requires strong engineering leadership skills and the ability to drive key decisions to meet project schedule and cost goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply project management fundamentals to plan and execute engineering projects
  • Develop and execute project plans and integrated schedules
  • Establish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scope
  • Forecast and maintain project demand files
  • Establish and utilize metrics to drive and monitor project performance
  • Facilitate and support technical and programmatic events
  • Lead vehicle system-level design, integration, build, and test activities
  • Represent the project and engineering organization to GDLS leadership and customers
  • Participate in the program team to lead the effort to success
  • Prepare bids and provide bid support for RFI or proposal efforts
  • Serve as a primary technical interface for internal and external customers
  • Coordinate incoming problem reports for prioritization and processing
  • Support change processing metrics through tracking, measuring, and managing aging issues to resolution
  • Evaluate and disseminate customer comments to proposed changes for immediate action
  • Propose and assess process improvements to increase throughput of design updates and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the defense industry or similar acquisition environments
  • Proven ability to effectively manage in an indirect leader role
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to form and lead teams
  • Experience in leading design, development, and integration of complex systems
  • Proven leadership skills and competencies
  • Ability to assess technical risk and develop corrective actions and/or mitigation plans
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent business acumen and negotiating skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Eligibility to obtain a US security clearance
