Position Overview

The Grants Management Specialist will oversee grant opportunities aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Feeding America Network, aligning with strategic goals and donor intentions. This role also entails providing extensive administrative and project support to the Grants Management team.

Compensation Details

At Feeding America, equity is fundamental to our mission and is reflected in our compensation practices. We acknowledge the historical pay disparities caused by systemic issues, and we strive for transparency in our salary ranges and hiring practices. Candidates can expect a starting salary aligned with the listed range, which reflects the starting to mid-point salaries for similar roles within our organization. Salary Range: $74,000 to $79,000 Based on Experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of directed grant opportunities with varying complexity throughout the grant lifecycle, including development, review, awarding, reporting, and grantee support.
  • Collaborate across departments, utilizing subject matter expertise to enhance grantmaking efficiency, serving as a project manager when necessary.
  • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) by implementing best practices in grantmaking that ensure fair distribution of resources to network members serving communities disproportionately affected by food insecurity.
  • Handle administrative tasks for the Grants Management team, such as scheduling meetings, managing team communications, and preparing grant check requests.
  • Support team members with grants management tasks, including contact management, follow-ups on applications and reports, and coordinating review committees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with network members to enhance engagement with the Grants Management function.
  • Educate internal staff and network members about the grantmaking process.
  • Maintain the HungerNet SharePoint site to ensure accessible information for staff and network members.
  • Ensure accuracy and documentation of grantmaking activities through the Grants Management System (GMS) and related tools.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong project management and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with grants management software is preferred; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills are advantageous.
  • Experience working with databases and large datasets; knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
  • Previous experience in grant-making or fundraising is beneficial.
