Job Summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with medical staff and ancillary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Nutrition Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough nutrition assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide ongoing nutrition education to patients and their families.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize nutrition care processes.
  • Education and Training: Provide nutrition education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrate leadership skills, work collaboratively with the healthcare team, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food Service, Food and Nutrition, or related field. Master's degree or specialty certification preferred.
  • Certification and Licensure: Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible for registration within one year of hire. State certification or licensure to meet state-specific laws for practice as a Dietitian or licensure within one year of hire.
